Dear friends,
The Society of Iranian Women in Los Angeles is a non-profit organization
for promoting the well being of Iranian and Iranian-American women. Its
functions include: lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences. While
its focus is on Iranian women, this organization's philosophy is based on
promoting the well being of immigrant Iranian women in the context of
cross-racial and cross-cultural understanding.
This Organization has been presented with an exciting opportunity to show
the works of a selection of Iranian artist. This exhibit will deconstruct
the employment of Hejab (veiling) as a form of suppression or liberation
through the works of these artists.
As the organizer committee, we are writing this letter to request for any
donations that you would be inclined to give. Exploration of such issues
is essentially crucial but also a very costly endeavor. With your help, we
can present both the Iranian and the general community of Los Angeles with
an outstanding exhibit that will question and raise awareness of issues
concerning Iranian women.
Your generous tax-deductible donations will be appreciated. You can become
a catalog listed sponsor by donating $1000 or more, a supporter with $500,
a member for $250, and a friend for $100 or less.
