The Atlantic Gallery of Georgetown begins the year with a wonderfully rich, colorful exhibit of Persian and Mogul miniature paintings of the 20th century. Excruciating in detail, these works illustrate life in prior centuries: elegant court scenes, loverís trysts, battle and hunt scenes. They are characterized by fine, gilded highlights and a mellow glow imparted by traditional techniques, painting styles, and surface preparation.
The collection being offered is wide and extensive. The prices, between $200 and $600, are wonderfully affordable for such fine decorative work.
Now in its 25th year, Atlantic Gallery is located in Georgetown on the historic C&O Canal, in the Foundry Building. 1055 Thomas Jefferson St, NW. Tel 202-337-2299
Gallery Hours:
Tuesday through Friday 10-5pm
